Meet Mrs. Tully

Hello Everyone!

Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year! My name is Daphne Tully and I am the “new” speech and language pathologist at Peterboro Street this year. I am going to do my best to fill the shoes of the amazing Mrs. Brod who retired as Peterboro’s speech therapist last June. This will be my seventh year in Canastota in all, as I previously worked with students at Roberts Street and the Junior High School. I will certainly miss my older students, but I am very excited to have the opportunity to come back and work at the early elementary level. Prior to working with Canastota Central School District, I spent the first 20 or so years (yikes!) of my career with preschool and kindergarten-aged students. I am SO excited to begin this new school year! I live in Cicero with my husband and English black lab pup of 14 years. We have 2 wonderful daughters, one of whom recently "left the nest" to pursue her career in Tennessee, and the other continues to work on her college degree. I enjoy spending time outdoors, gardening, hiking, and cycling. We spend most of our free time in the 1000 Islands region, boating and relaxing in the spring, summer, and fall until the weather turns colder. What a beautiful summer we have had!

I typically begin the year by gathering data, meeting the students, assessing  needs, evaluating performance when necessary, and by grouping students accordingly. Your child’s speech schedule will be finalized within the next few weeks, and services will begin the week of September 17th. I will send schedule information home at that time.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns about your child’s speech and language progress or needs at any time. You can reach me by email (, by calling the Peterboro Street office, or writing a note to send with your child to school. I look forward to working with you and your child!

Happy September!
