In 2005 I joined the Canastota community as a full-time Art Teacher. I currently teach at Peterboro Street (K-1) and South Side (2-3) Elementary Schools and in the Imagine and Maker Space STEAM labs in those buildings. I attended the State University at Oswego for six years. I received my Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts with a concentration in Ceramics and Sculpture and my Master’s Degree in Art Education. While there I was also a Resident Assistant, Assistant Hall Director and a Summer Conference Coordinator.
After graduating with my Master’s I was hired by the Syracuse City School District, where worked for two years then moved on to Owen D. Young. ODY is a small rural school near Herkimer, I was the art teacher for the entire K-12 school district! After an exciting (and busy) year I happily found my way to Canastota.
I live in Canastota, NY with my family. My husband, Kevin (a Social Studies teacher in Rome) and my sons Michael and Joseph as well as our daughter Ellie! We recently added a dog named Hopper! My favorite color is orange, my favorite animals are fish and I love spending time with my family and friends in the Adirondacks.
